"Anyone for Dessert" by Mick McGinty - Oil on Board  8' x 10" : 16 x 18 matted (frame-less, ready to hang)

Mick McGinty (1952 - 2021) is a nationally prominent artist with a long history of professional accomplishments.  He has been recognized for more than 30 years as one of America’s top-tier illustrators. Reviews of his career most commonly refer to him as “legendary” and his work as “iconic” for his illustration work. (See Bio below)

As a mature artist McGinty transitioned from his famous gripping gotcha graphic images of video game illustration art to the refined elements of fine art painting.  Well beyond the cute image of cherries on blue plated cheesecake, this painting demonstrates the skill and refinement of a mature artist. It displays his mastery of detail as a top-tier illustrator, elevating this subject of simple pleasures of hometown life into the realm of fine art.

This oil painting, dated 2006, just before his move to Arizona, is part of his transition from commercial illustration to fine art paintings. It combines the best of both.  It has a new white mat and solid backing.

It is not often that you find such a fun piece of serious art. Dare we say delicious!
