A Classic Elegant Engraving
Condition: A strongly printed crisp impression in very good condition, unframed. Signed and dated by Rossini in the plate along the lower margin. Printed on early 19th century thick wove paper and with margins beyond the plate-impression on all sides. Watermark: 'AG F FRABRINO' This is an antique engraving which exhibits its age around the margins outside the image area. Contains spotting and light creases in the margins and light brown aging at the very edges of the sheet. Original edge gilding on three sides of sheet. This engraving is taken directly from its book, it has never been framed, mounted or displayed.
Provenance: This particular engraving came from a book inscribed as belonging to “E. Cameron Galton, Newland House, Eynsham, Oxon”
